Aggie Orientation Camps – Venture: Base Camp – Brazoria County Aggie Moms' Club

Howdy!

My name is Kyle Grover, I’m a junior here at Texas A&M, and I have the privilege of serving as the Marketing Supervisor for Outdoor Adventures at Texas A&M Rec Sports. Much like Fish Camp, Impact, and Aggie Transition Camps, our department finds importance in an effective, meaningful transition from high school to college. Because of this and through a collaboration with the Extended Orientation Program, we have developed a new transition camp, which we call Venture: Base Camp. Base Camp is the premiere outdoor extended orientation experience set to take place both on the Texas A&M main campus and in the Texas Hill Country. Base Camp is sure to provide new Aggies with many fun and exciting activities including camping, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, cycling, and a day at the A&M challenge course. Extended Orientation mentors and student trip leaders from the Department of Recreational Sports will serve as your guides for trip activities during the day. In the evening, students will gather back at the bunk houses to participate in large and small group activities and discussions about college life at Texas A&M. No prior outdoor recreation experience is required, but a willingness to be an active participant, as well as a team player, is very important.

We want to extend the invitation to participate in Venture Camp (which can compliment other transition camps, as the dates do not coincide) to all of the incoming Aggies whom your AMC branch is in contact with.
